My Favorite AI Tool Today

Perplexity AI is a fantastic alternative to ChatGPT, Bing AI Chat and Google Bard that can help you find answers fast through any prompt you have in mind.

You’re also able to add this as an extension on your browser to research web-ages.

The most exciting thing is that this is available on both Android and iOS, and is completely free (at the moment)!

💡 The Basics of using AI tools Like ChatGPT

Let’s strip this back down to the basics, as a lot of AI requires a bit of practical learning.

Bing Chat, Google Bard and Chat GPT are examples of AI tools that can generate natural language responses based on user input.

They can understand and communicate fluently in different languages, and they can also generate content such as poems, stories, code, essays, songs, celebrity parodies and more.

These tools can be used for various purposes, such as:

❓ Asking questions and getting answers from a large pool of information sources

🗣️Having fun and engaging conversations with a friendly and creative chatbot

💡Getting feedback and suggestions on your own content or ideas

🚴‍♀️ Learning new skills or topics from interactive tutorials or courses

We’ll dig into ‘prompts’ and ways to communicate with these tools in later newsletters, but why not jump in and explore the kind of information you can find yourself?

The examples above are all free to access! Bing and Bard are extremely consumer-friendly, but the key question is would you use these over your usual search engines?

📖 Importance of Seeing AI as a Source of Information and Inspiration

AI are not meant to replace human creativity or intelligence. Rather, they are meant to augment and enhance it.

They can provide us with new perspectives, insights and ideas that we might not have thought of ourselves.

They can also help us overcome some of the challenges or limitations that we face in our work or personal lives.

For example, AI tools can help us:

⏱️ Save time and effort by generating content or information quickly and efficiently

✍️ Improve our writing or communication skills by providing feedback or suggestions

🌏 Explore new domains or fields that we are not familiar with by providing relevant information or examples

🤔 Spark our imagination and curiosity by generating unexpected or surprising content or responses

Therefore, instead of fearing AI tools as a threat or a competitor, we should also try to embrace them as a source of inspiration, and a way to help us communicate with others in a clearer way.

One of the main reasons I created The Onwards Project was to start testing, exploring and expanding on using AI to help learn how to communicate and create more inclusive environments.

My hope is that AI will continue to help us all do this.
